NEW ORLEANS — Due to continued severe weather, the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) has rescheduled the temporary closure of two blocks in the French Quarter to Tuesday, May 13, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. This work is part of the DPW773 Right of Way (ROW) Improvement Project and was originally scheduled for May 7 and May 9.
Iberville Street, from Royal Street to Chartres Street, and Exchange Place, from Canal Street to Bienville Street, will be fully closed to vehicular traffic while crews conduct a closed-circuit TV (CCTV) inspection of the underground drainage lines. This inspection is necessary to verify that the infrastructure is intact ahead of upcoming street paving work.
Detour Information:
The City appreciates your patience and cooperation as we work to improve infrastructure in the French Quarter.
